 Name: Quang Hieu Van Cong

Country: Vietnam

Institute: Chongqing University

My name is Hieu and I come from Vietnam. This is my second year at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University. The reason why I chose China as my destination for my study is because of its appealing architecture and culture. Since ancient times, Chinese culture has been heavily influenced by conservative philosophies. Its own culture has a long deep history and a largely inward-looking national perspective.

To be able to understand the art and the meaning of their design and architecture, I have to learn the most difficult language--Chinese. For me, learning this language was a difficult experience but also full of fun. Unlike English or other languages, Chinese writing has a lot of strokes which is really hard to remember. It demands lots of interest in the field that you love to be able to advance all the skills.

The biggest encouragement for me is when communicating with Chinese people, they think of me as truly native speaker. The enthusiastic help and caring from teachers and friends has been the greatest motivation for me to overcome the difficulties in learning and in daily life. I know there are students from all over the world who also have the same problems as me so we share and talk about our own country in Chinese, together join all the fun extracurricular activities to help each other improve to be better. This will be one of the most unforgettable memories in my life.
